Depressing reading in the news yesterday especially for young people http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15715460. At the moment the broadcast and media sector seems to still be reasonably buoyant with lots of big projects happening: however we’ve definitely seen a move to more contract/interim positions for staffing these – which is one of the reasons PCR now have clearly defined specialist contract and perm divisions to be able to provide the best service for our clients needs. Frankie has been kicked out – absolutely gutted. Ok so he broke one of the rules ( presumably the one about being able to sing in tune…) but thats never bothered the judges in the past. Perhaps we will turn our upcoming contractors social event into a karaoke evening to find some better contestants for next year?
Things are hotting up now with the X Factor sweep in the office – Maria even accused me of spending a fortune on phone calls at the weekend to keep my boy Frankie in – as if! We all think Tim is sitting pretty for buying Xmas drinks when he wins first prize with MichaB, but after the shock with The Risk this week then who knows….
